SPARK-22921 added a prompt in the merge script to ask for the assignee of the bug being resolved. But it only provides you with a list containing the reporter and commenters (plus the "Apache Spark" bot).

Sometimes the author of the PR is not on that list, and right now there doesn't seem to be a way to enter an arbitrary JIRA user name there.
