Difference between Snapshot created by using openstack glance and cinder

Hi Team,

The target cloud Environment is

ubuntu openstack cloud environment with "glance service" installed and
without "cinder service" on it.

1. By using horizon , i am able to create a snapshot of an VM and which is
showing in the list of images of type snapshot.( sure there is no cinder
installed at this point). This snapshot image also showing through "glance
list"(images).

Now tuned the Target environment by installing "cinder service" with proper
configuration.

2. By using jclouds i am trying to create a snapshot, where jclouds is
using "cinder service"(block storage) to create a snapshot , which will be
created in a volume attached.

To get rid of my confusion , what is the exact difference between these two
types of snapshots created by glance and cinder.

Appreciate and thankful for the reply in advance.

Best Regards
