A question for Xerces-J developers.

Fellow Xerces Developers,

I am a new user of Xerces-J and have a question I hope someone can help me with. I have written a program that successfully parses the document I am working with. However, in testing the app with or without an error handler, I get the following error message when I intentionally make an element name incorrect in order test error processing:

Error in parsing: Can't find bundle for base name org.apache.xerces.msg.XMLMessages, locale en_US

It seems as though I am experiencing some type of problem relating to language translation in the handling XML error messages. It apparently has something to do with the ResourceBundle class. However, the default language is English for the United States which is appropriate. Is language translation of XML error messages something I must handle programmatically myself or should this be handled by default settings? Can someone tell me if I'm doing something wrong?

I am using Xerces version 1.0.3 which I know is old. I am using version 1.3 of Java. I am not using a DTD at this point.
