[jira] [Created] (HELIX-419) Callbacks for task framework should be
reevaluated
Kanak Biscuitwala created HELIX-419:
---------------------------------------
Summary: Callbacks for task framework should be reevaluated
Key: HELIX-419
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HELIX-419
Project: Apache Helix
Issue Type: Sub-task
Reporter: Kanak Biscuitwala
Assignee: Kanak Biscuitwala
Right now we have a synchronous run method and a synchronous cancel method that will halt the run method. We should work in a way that's more Helix-like. For instance, a short-lived start() method that causes a state transition to RUNNING upon immediate return. Perhaps the start can return a ListenableFuture.
