This is a consequence of [THRIFT-584|https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/THRIFT-584] which produces the generated directory structure expected by the generated files.

The tutorial is out of date and breaks because it doesn't install the generated files into {{$GLOBALS['THRIFT_ROOT'].'/packages/<MyPackage>}}.
