Stateful web services

Dear all,

I'm really new to CXF but not in web services. Since a couple of year, I
create web services using the Globus toolkit framework but it's now time to
migrate because it relies on really old libraries. This framework provides
really interested features like WS-RS (with lifetime management etc.). I
already read a couple of messages about this request like this one

honestly don't understand everything :-). 

Is there any new things about it since CXF 2.3? Any plan?
