CPU Utilization at 100% with no load on system

When first loaded everything runs fine but after some time (few hours)
Java.exe jumps, for no reason, to 100% utilisation for one of the CPUs. 

Have JDK 1.2.2_007, TomCat 3.2.3, Cocoon 1.8.2, and IIS4 running on a quad
processor NT 4 sp 6a server (note SQL Server 7.0 is also running although
not being used).  We have an application on another machine which pushes XML
files to the filesystem of this server.  Cocoon is used to marry XSL style
sheets with the XML to push HTML files out through IIS.  

Has anyone any ideas on this ?
