JDK 1.4 java.beans.XMLEncoder Vs Axis XML Serialization

Hi,
I would like to know how Axis's bean serialization compares to the xml 
serialization that is part of the new java.beans.XMLEncoder and 
java.beans.XMLDecoder classes that are new to the J2SE 1.4
