[Bug 121567] New: Total Frustration

https://issues.apache.org/ooo/show_bug.cgi?id=121567

            Bug ID: 121567
        Issue Type: DEFECT
           Summary: Total Frustration
    Classification: Application
           Product: database access
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P3
         Component: code
          Assignee: issues@openoffice.apache.org
          Reporter: adasr@yahoo.com
                CC: issues@openoffice.apache.org

I am having severe problems with OO not opening or opening and then crashing.
I have tried for some time now to change the user (7 times) delete the
soffice.bin and then restart. I have tried the compatibility resource and
everything else including deleting the program altogether and re-installing.
It worked fine for over a year until the new version Apache Open office 3.4.1
came out and I installed it on my PC with Windows 7. I am so frustrated that I
have decided to give up unless I can get an answer to my problem.

Please read the Release Notes:
http://www.openoffice.org/development/releases/3.4.1.html#AOO3.4.1ReleaseNotes-KnownIssues

Apache OpenOffice 3.4.0 and 3.4.1 manage the user profile differently than
previous versions. The old user profile is automatically converted so that
users can keep their extensions and settings. In a minority of cases,
especially with highly customized profiles (many extensions or customizations)
the conversion doesn't succeed. Common symptoms are: frequent application
crashes, problems with dictionaries or thesaurus, OpenOffice starting and
crashing after a few seconds. To solve this, just reset/rename your user
profile as explained in the official OpenOffice forum.
