Informative dropdown list

Hi,

Does anyone know whether a dropdown multiple select list with the 
following structure is at all possible (not particularly in Tapestry but 
even more in the HTML 2 b rendered)?
Structure:
    [Checkbox - <image> - text label]

Trying to explain to an ordinary user how to do the <ctrl> click trick 
is not my isea of fun whilst a checkbox keeps him of my back.
