[jira] Created: (HBASE-2829) Add ability for start/stop scripts to also run a hadoop/hdfs cluster

Add ability for start/stop scripts to also run a hadoop/hdfs cluster
--------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: HBASE-2829
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HBASE-2829
             Project: HBase
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: scripts
            Reporter: Jonathan Gray
            Priority: Critical
             Fix For: 0.21.0

There are many new users of HBase who are not currently users of Hadoop. To make it easier for these users to get started, we should add the ability for our scripts to optionally start/stop an HDFS cluster, just as we do for ZooKeeper.

stack commented on HBASE-2829:
------------------------------

I'd think there'd be little to this other than bringing over the hdfs start/stop scripts and adding a start-all of our own that would run hdfs and hbase (and zk).,
