[jira] [Commented] (RATIS-585) LogMetadata does not wait for the metada operations to finish before acknowleding watch requests

Tsz Wo Nicholas Sze commented on RATIS-585:
-------------------------------------------

Do you mean that watch requests should be replied only if the corresponding metadata entry is replicated to all servers? If not, the servers without metadata entry may hit the problem on restart as described.

> LogMetadata call on receiving a quorum does not wait for the file IO to complete before acknowledging the watch requests. This can lead to problems on restart where a watch request acknowledged back to the client is not persisted.
