   @zentol Do you think we could publish two artifacts, the current one and one with shaded dependencies, that's how spark's cassandra connector handles this issue [see here](https://github.com/datastax/spark-cassandra-connector/blob/master/doc/FAQ.md#how-do-i-use-libraries-which-depend-on-the-cassandra-java-driver)? I could contribute the PR if you think that's a viable approach.
