Confused about APR split
OK, post APR split how does one actually build Apache? I realise this
has probably been spelt out somewhere, but I managed to miss it, sorry.
As it is, I update the Apache 2 tree and do:
ben@top:~/work/apache-2.0/src$ ./buildconf
make: don't know how to make lib/apr/apr_common.m4. Stop
and there the fun ends! What did I miss?
Cheers,
Ben.

Yeah, I did mean if.

Roy just got done completely re-vamping apache-2.0 to a new repository
httpd-2.0. This repository doesn't build yet, although it is
close. Nobody should be using apache-2.0 anymore, because we are not
merging the two repositories together.

Actually, in my case, it should be real cvs, but I get your point.

That is not so - I updated -Pd. And when you said "unless", did you mean
"if"?

Now I'm even more confused.
Cheers,
Ben.

That is the problem and solution. This really only affects updating
unless you checkout without the -P option. I would like to remove the apr
directory from the Apache repository, but I believe that if we are just
going to re-organize into a new repository, then there is no real need.

I noticed the same a couple hours ago. I think the problem is with
the old apr repository still being in apache-2.0. I suspect that what
you need to do is delete the existing apr directory and replace it with
a fresh checkout from the anonymous cvs site for apr.
I am building the httpd-2.0 module right now, and I assume that later
today somebody will add the smarts to buildconf to detect the missing
srclib directories and instruct the developer on how to checkout.
