For a long time we have discussed the idea of replacing the current OCW API with something more modern, and so I created Big Climate Date Pipeline (BCDP) as a replacement. It makes of use of xarray and dask to provide support for labeled arrays and parallel dataset processing. Currently BCDP is hosted here:

We are still missing unit tests, documentation pages, and a few essential features, so for now the code is being kept here, but once significant progress is made in these areas we would like to move it to our main repository:

We will remove many old folders in this process along with the main ocw folder as this contains the old API.
