------------------------------

See:

https://svn.apache.org/repos/infra/infrastructure/buildbot/aegis/buildmaster/master1/public_html/projects/jmeter/nightlies

the HTML page is constructed.

make your changes to the *.inc files (just body-top.inc by the looks of it in this case)

buildbot will then pull in the changes and apply them within an hour.

But why are there two builds?
As far as I can tell, the nightly build is all that is needed.

The latest 'trunk' build passed as can be seen at - http://ci.apache.org/builders/jmeter-trunk/builds/2 - thanks for fixing it.

Now, choices.

1.) Enable per commit triggers for that 'jmeter-trunk' build (the project would then receive one email if it fails, then another only when it passes again etc..)

2.) Merge the build steps in with the 'jmeter-nightly' build.

The most common way is to choose 1 but I'll leave it up to you.

Gavin commented on INFRA-4025:
------------------------------

The jmeter-trunk build is intended to work on a per commit basis, so you get instant feedback if someones commit broke a build, rather then waiting for a nightly build which may include many commits and so you wouldnt know which commit broke it. This is how most builds are configured on buildbot, nightly for docs generation etc and per commit for trunk/branch testing.

If you prefer once a day build let me know and I will merge them.

Where are the html files for the nightlies?
These will need to be updated at some point to remove the Jakarta references.

Ok made a decent start I think.

1. - Nightlies are at : http://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/nightlies/ (Still needs a script tweak but you get the gist)
2. - Apidocs are at: http://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/apidocs/
3. - RAT report is at: http://ci.apache.org/projects/jmeter/rat-output.html (We need to configure a rat-excludes file in your svn to get accurate report)

Your Buildbot config file lives at: https://svn.apache.org/repos/infra/infrastructure/buildbot/aegis/buildmaster/master1/projects/jmeter.conf

Any committer is welcome to adjust it as needs arise, or continue to open jiras for infra to adjust. (Any changes applied are live on the */5)

Other links of interest:

http://ci.apache.org/waterfall?&show=jmeter-nightly&show=jmeter-trunk are your two builders. jmeter-nightly produces 1,2 and 3 above. jmeter-trunk is your normal build, currently fails - havent deleved into it, can you advise? (ant 1.8.2 it uses.)

Have I got things abour right? what else do you need?

Thanks

-----------------------------

I'd like to keep the Jenkins build.

However, it would be useful to have a buildbot build as well.
AIUI BuildBot can deploy snapshots, which Jenkins cannot.
Besides, it's useful to have an alternate build to find issues.

Could the build use the same parameters as Jenkins please?
