[jira] [Created] (BIGTOP-263) we need a way to provide supervision for long running daemon applications

we need a way to provide supervision for long running daemon applications
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: BIGTOP-263
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BIGTOP-263
             Project: Bigtop
          Issue Type: Improvement
          Components: General
    Affects Versions: 0.2.0
            Reporter: Roman Shaposhnik
             Fix For: 0.3.0

There's an immediate need for Zookeeper and Flume, but in general it would be nice to have that layer of functionality in Bigtop available for all the daemons to use.

I'm cool with daemontools. DJB is a pretty meticulous coder and this is not likely to be a large support issue for us.

I was thinking more along the lines of daemontools, but I'm totally open to suggestions.
