[VOTE] Release XmlSchema 1.4.4
The proposed release pieces can be found at:

>From my recollection:
What used to happen was a vote for the process and not the artifacts,
which isn't in line with what the ASF expects us to do (we have to
vote on the artifacts to provide the release manager with what little
legal cover is possible).
We now do have votes on the release artifacts.
Having a vote on starting the process isn't strictly required, but
checking that noone has anything they want to get into the next
release is a good idea!

Great. Anyway having two votes is not a problem at all, as I mentioned
before I was under the impression that we follow the one vote process. :-)
Actually we discussed about the release process in the
general@ws.apache.org not in PMC.

Well, I did write down the release process I used for 1.4.3 :-)
I confess that I'm in favor of the two-vote system, but I'm not a PMC
member. If the PMC decides/decided not to go there, I'll modify the
Wiki page to match.

process (anyway I need to double check this).

Deepal,
No insult intended. I'm a recent addition to this project, and I don't
have all the history. If there was a prior policy decision to skip
'start release' votes, I would have been ignorant of it. I
misunderstood your messages for lack of that bit of information.

Re: [VOTE] Release XmlSchema 1.4.4

Deepal,
No, we don't move them until we collect the necessary votes.
The process is:
1: vote to start a release process
2: build and tag a release in a private staging area.
3: announce vote for release
4: people test out the artifacts in the private staging area.
5: copy to the public repos (assuming that the vote passes)
This is documented:
http://cwiki.apache.org/WS/release-management.html
It's my understanding that this is global ASF Policy. Nothing goes
into the public (non-snapshot) repo except after a vote.
I will move them when the vote closes, just as I did for 1.4.3, and I
imagine that Dims or someone did for all release before that.

Deepal,
Is doesn't get uploaded there until AFTER the vote passes. It gets staged to
a staging area, the vote occurs, if the vote passes, it then goes to the
release repo. If the vote doesn't pass, it gets wiped out and redone.
And the artifacts are signed in Bendon's staging area.

Hi Benson ,
Since this is not a RC, you need to upload this into the Apache repository.
Few steps
- You need to sign the release
- And then upload it to the repo
Otherwise release will not become an Apache official release.
(If you want I can help you on this)
Thank you!
