Perhaps this info can be included in the project's report.
I believe checker.apache.org only reports real problems ;
problems that the PMC should (and can) fix.
Of course I hope that including this info in the report, will result a healtier /dist/.

IIUC, this

says that they must be removed from the "dist" area.
