[Discuss] Flink CDC 3.4 Kick Off
Hi devs,
As FlinkCDC 3.3 was released recently, it's a good time to kick off the upcoming Flink CDC 3.4 release cycle.
In past community discussions, we have identified the following demands that need to be completed:
Bump Flink version to 1.20 as it's a long term maintenance version.
Expand the data synchronization pipeline to support batch synchronization scenarios.
Integrate Iceberg connector and Mysql connector as pipeline sink, which is what many users have always wanted to support.
Migrate tests to JUnit 5 and AssertJ.
For developers who are interested in participating and contributing new features in this release cycle, please feel free to create a jira that targets cdc-3.4.0 to trace your planning features [1].
To ensure that we can complete the above plan, we plan to complete the development of Flink CDC 3.4 by At the end of March, 2025.
