James's interface with its container. was: Shutting down James

I would like to know how you got James into JBoss (and thus, I suppose
out of Avalon). Is there documentation somewhere on how to do this?
Does this imply that there is some standard contract, between a
component like James and a container like Avalon, a standard also
supported by JBoss? If so, could someone tell me what that standard
is and where it is documented?

Thanks very much,

Of course there is, but you've got it sort of backwards. Avalon provides
the contract. Phoenix and Merlin are two containers that implement that
contract.

See http://avalon.apache.org.
