[jira] Commented: (MSITE-163) site modules menu does not inherit
[ http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MSITE-163?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#action_104156 ]
Wouter Hermeling commented on MSITE-163:
----------------------------------------
I have the same kind of problem and found out what is causing the problem:
The site:attach-descriptor goals uploads a wrong site descriptor to your repository (it is attached as an artifact to the project). When the parent has no modules, the site descriptor has wrong contents: the modules links is removed! As a result, all projects which inherited from this parent, do not get the modules section in their site.
So something has to be fixed in the proces described above.

> if I have a site.xml in a parent project that contains the line <menu ref="modules" inherit="top" /> it is not inherited by child projects.
> <menu ref="reports" inherit="top" /> works, as does parent.
> This happens when the parent project has no modules of its own.
