AI Michael: look at JDO-722 to see if this impacts the release build process.
I looked at JDO-722: we do not have the submodule copyjdorijars anymore.
The submodule copyjdorijars is used in assembly.xml. This was an oversight when fixing JDO-775 and need to be removed. I checked in a fix in the main branch (using JDO-775 in the commit message).

AI everyone: generate the pdf: open the master document, update the references (table of contents, indexes), and export as pdf. This will produce a document for review.
To review a chapter:
review the "changes" appendix and double check that index entries are added for new features;
check for broken formatting (empty pages, widows, etc.)

A few issues were pulled back into 3.2, mostly interfacing with the JCP and Oracle organizations.

The OpenOffice crash seems to be related to auto updates. There is a workaround for now. DON'T UPDATE OO.
Tobias volunteered to help create a new GitHub repository for the specification and move it from the Apache repository (not mirrored to the Apache gitbox).
