Status of couchdb4j?

Hi, I'm trying to use couchdb4j and I have some questions, and it's unclear
what the status of the library is, and whom/where to contact about it. Can
anyone help me out?
Specifically, I'm wondering why some of the "important" methods of Database
don't throw exceptions when they fail - particularly saveDocument() and
deleteDocument().
