   As of right now (`3.1` and `3.2-SNAPSHOT`), the usage of environment variables is not implemented. HOCON could be used as a text format in multiple places in the system, and in each case the behavior of "resolve" would potentially be different, it highly depends on a specific environment that parses the text. This behavior should be carefully considered, designed and documented, and we have not yet started doing that. Apologies for any inconvenience.
