No serializer found... (AXIS 1.2 alpha)

Hi,

I tried switching to AXIS 1.2 alpha.
Now it throws an exception saying no serializer
found for one of my classes. It is true that
I did not register one, but I don't need it
before. The class that it is complaining about
is a component of a larger object which has
registered type mapping. This works with
version 1.1. What is going on?

Thanks,

A

Thanks for your reply, but this is not
the problem. It is not an argument of the
web service method. It is a component object
of a larger object (which is the argument of
the web service). Can anyone help?

Hi,
I think this is bcoz u r passing an Object as the argument for the web service method.
in that case u will have to set the beanMapping in the deployment descriptor file.. and have that registerTypeMapping() function called.

See eg under samples\userguide\example5

Cheers

I think I know why this is happening, but I
don't know what to do about it. My highest level
object implements the interface java.util.List.
I'm guessing that type has a typeMapping already
associated. It apparently finds that mapping
before it finds my mapping. Can anyone confirm
this? How can I correct this?

Thanks,

Terry

Re: No serializer found... (AXIS 1.2 alpha)

Posted by Airline Pedestal <ai...@yahoo.com>.
Hi,

I haven't had this problem with Axis 1.1.
Only when I switched to Axis 1.2alpha did I
start getting this exception. I don't understand
what is going on, because I am using the same
code. It works on 1.1, but fails on 1.2alpha.
Does anyone know why Axis would be looking for
a serializer for an object that is a component
of a larger object. The larger object is actually
the parameter to the method (Not the object
the exception complains about).

Thanks,

A
