How to set the security id for a portlet

Hi,
In customize page, we are able to set the security id for a pane. but at a
portlet level how can we set the security id? There is a text that specifies
the security id for each portlet (it says "default" even though we have
<security-ref parent="abc"> defined in the xregs.)
 
Any pointers?
