Win 2.3.15 :: The timeout specified has expired
Observing that the error.log is filling with [http:error] lines, never seen
with 2.2:
[http:error] [pid 3244:tid 2656] (70007)The timeout specified has expired:
[client 114.79.60.32:11091] Timeout while writing data for URI
/download/binaries/httpd-2.2.21-win32-x86-ssl.zip to the client.
New feature ?
Happens when client is downloading partial (206).
What is the "timeout specified" in the line and can it changed ?

And you can cross check those timeouts by adding "%D" to the LogFormat
you use in your access log. The resulting value for those requests
should be very close to the defined timeout.
Note that by default the time stamp in the access log is the time the
request started, and in the error log the time of the event, which would
be about request start plus timeout. You can also log the end of request
time in the accesslog alternatively or in addition to request start
using %{end}t in the LogFormat.

Rainer

No, you are correct. It would only trigger if no data could be sent
for 60s, which is not very likely.

hi
we are using "Timout 60" since a long time with 2.2.x an noticed no problem
should this not be the timeout for no data between server/client and not
be triggered if a hughe download is in progress or am i missunderstanding
something here?

We just missed this one, fixed in r1204630.
Steffen, the default for Timeout has been reduced from 300 to 60. If
you get complaints from users, the new value may be too low and we
should maybe reconsider the new value.

Interesting, something to fix... we've been quieting down these
errors to debug level (a behavior by a specific client/user that
does not indicate action required by the server admin). Either
we looked for literal APR_ETIMEOUT instead of testing with the
APR_STATUS_IS_... macro family, or we just missed this one.
