I'd like to toss my vote in for this issue.

I'd personally like to set up a few archetypes with IDE configuration files too.

> I have a need to create two default directories called /messages and /xsd which are mandated by the client's preferred directory structure. These directories and files need to go at the same level as /src. Currently you can only create resources underneath of the /src directory where I need my directory to come out looking like
> /messages
> ---readme.txt
> /src
> /main
> /java
> /resources
> /xsd
> --readme.txt
> Right now there is no way to create an archetype that does this.
