Finally.....

The Sitemap.XSL calls a java XSLT Extension class (org.apache.cocoon.sitemap.XSLTFactoryLoader)
which is inside cocoon-2.0a3.jar. If you have Xalan-2.0.0.jar in tomcat\lib directory then it is
unable to find org.apache.cocoon.sitemap.XSLTFactoryLoader(in cocoon-2.0a3.jar which is in
WEB-INF\lib) directory. That's the problem.

So the moral of the story is:
1. Remove JAXP.JAR and PARSER.JAR from tomcat-3.2.1\lib directory and
2. Add ONLY Xerces_1_2_3.jar into tomcat-3.2.1\lib directory.
