Closing a JIRA issue
This old issue was still assigned to me:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/LUCENE-3318. I had worked on it seven
years ago, but it is no longer relevant today, and I'd like to close it,
but I don't see any UI affordance for doing that in JIRA. Am I missing
permissions? Is the issue in some weird state? I unassigned it so at least
it no longer shows up as "my" issue, but I would still like to see if there
is some way to close it

Wouldn't it be appropriate for a Reporter to resolve their own issues?

Thanks, Cassandra. It seems that issue had already been resolved, but I do
see the button now on some other old issues I have opened over the years,
so I can clean them up now.

I checked it since I had a moment - resolving & closing issues is limited
to users who are Contributors, Committers, PMC and Administrators. I think
all we need to do is make Michael a Contributor, which seems fine to me
considering his activity with the project over the past several months.
I've gone ahead and given you that role, Michael, please see if you see the
Resolve button now.

Hi,
When back in office, I will check the project roles of Lucene and Sole Jira projects.

I do not see a "resolve" button anywhere. Please feel free to resolve for
me. This was about making a highlighter that uses position queries.

I can see "Resolve" button, which is a step towards closure.
So, if you do not see it, the permissions may be in play. I will leave
the issue as is, to let the discrepancy to be figured out.
Regards,
Alex.
