Request for Windows build of my branch "bettersave"
Dear List,
could someone please build a Windows version of my branch "bettersave"?
https://github.com/ardovm/openoffice/tree/bettersave
...maybe Matthias? Please? :-)
It is my first tentative at addressing bug #126869 and it may be worth
testing by some of the volunteers watching it.
It should show one more progress bar that follows the whole saving
process of a Writer document. We should check if this is enough to
have AOO stop any pending shutdown until save is complete.

The build tries to address a data corruption problem that can happen
when a Windows system is shut down while AOO is saving a document.

In particular, we should check if this build effectively:
- shows the user that AOO is busy until the file is safely written to
disk;
- is able to interrupt a shutdown request until it's done saving the
file.

calling for tester on these two issues, that have been discussed in
the last comments.
The reason I am calling for builders here and for testers on Bugzilla
is that this problem seems to be Windows-specific and I do not have
the possibility to build and/or test on Windows.

I am a bit concerned because we have smart and willing testers for bug
126869 and we are just... idle.
Can I ask you and possibly other AOO developers to vote for my ticket?
It's been two days without an official reply from Infra. This is the

You should at least have host access to home.apache.org.

Thank you! That's what I did... or at least I think I did ;-) My SSH
key works, but I am kicked out of the server with a LDAP-related error
message.

You want to access your own webspace at Apache?
It has been longer ago, but maybe I can help you with it.
I do remember that you had to add your SSH key at:
https://id.apache.org/
Later, you need to create a "public_html" directory inside home/ardovm
to get your webspace visible.
