   @srsteinmetz if you are seeing cleaning not happening after each commit, that's not right.. 
   Can you paste the listing of `.hoodie` folder. want to see if there are .clean actions there.. 
   
   From your screenshot, I do see more than 1 version retained for a given fileId.
