Time lag between spout and bolt

Hi,
Did anybody observe a latency of 10+ ms between a spout/bolt emit and a
bolt being the message? Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce this?

Thanks
Kashyap

Topologies are run in my laptop:-! So time difference does not seem to be
a problem.

Thanks

If the bolts are running on two different nodes, those times can be
different due to the time differences between the ndoes.

In the Spout, a logger statement at the end of nextTuple()
In the bolt, a logger statement at the beginning and end of execute().

I then measure the time difference between the times.

Thanks
