[jira] Commented: (CONTINUUM-1910) Add a Mail Manager to modify the mail content

Wendy Smoak commented on CONTINUUM-1910:
----------------------------------------

This sounds interesting. I'm definitely in need of a way to modify the existing mail notifier, _and_ I need to do it conditionally, based on the presence/contents of files in the working directory.

Groovy sounds like a good choice, I'm just reading Venkat's book now. :)

I'm less interested in doing this through the web UI than in being able to drop in a replacement continuum-mail-notifier-1.3.jar and having it all just work. Any chance this issue will also include moving the mail notifier out into a separate jar?

If the 'original' template is inside the jar... where are you going to store the edited one?

Thanks for taking this on!

> The mail manager is a new screen in the project group pages.
> With it, a project group manager will can modify the mail subject/body for the current project group or reuse a global template.
> The template can be associated to an event success/failure/error/ new account...
> The user can modify it from the UI and some scripting can be used to generate the content, maybe groovy
> For example, for a project group and with a script editor, the user can create a html template with the project logo and attach the build output to the mail
