[jira] [Commented] (INFRA-9642) Monitor git:// on git.apache.org

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-9642?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15014486#comment-15014486 ]

Geoffrey Corey commented on INFRA-9642:
---------------------------------------

git upload and git-upload seems to be hanging around. The script all out attacks everything with git in the name.

Scaled back the grep.

Will also look into putting a nightly cron to kill hanging git upload processes hanging around (which likely leads to the many git-daemons left open and refusing connections after buildup).

> It seems that after a while, using the git:// protocol on git.apache.org is unusable.
> 2 things:
> 1. Create a monitoring check for git:// on git.apache.org
> 2. Figure out how to clear out the stale git-daemon processes (sending them a SIGHUP seems to help) to keep the service up.
