[users@httpd] server reached MaxClients

Hi,

I am using Apache 1.3.27 + mysql 3.23.55 + php 4.3.1. Everything was ok, until this morning.

The error I see in log file:
[Fri Jun 13 16:05:42 2003] [error] server reached MaxClients setting, consider raising the MaxClients setting

When I increase the Maxclient number to 256, it doesn't help.

As soon as I start the httpd, huge amounts of client rush into server then server responses very very slow.

What is that? Any idea?
