[Vote] HiveMind 2.0 road map

I'd like to officially propose the code base from my
2.0 branch as foundation for HiveMind 2.0.

The branch contains a stable implementation
of hivemind that was completely refactored to be able to support
annotation based modules.
Look here for a description of new features:
http://wiki.apache.org/jakarta-hivemind/NewAndNoteworthyFeaturesInAnnotationBranch

The version is backward compatible to a large degree:
http://wiki.apache.org/jakarta-hivemind/HiveMind2_Backward_Compatibility

During the last month I focused on enhancements that were proposed
by the other committers. E.g.
- Removed "natures"
- Introduced interfaces for registry definition api
- Moved symbol support to xml module

So I think we now have a version that reflects common visions.

Please vote +1 if you agree to make the branch the official
2.0 branch.
In that case I will release a first public beta soon to get
some feedback from community.
The registry definition api and the annotated modules api will both
be marked as not-stable in that release.

Happy new year

Ok, it's done. HiveMind 2.0-alpha-1 is released.

Download:

The release will be available from the central Maven repository soon:

I'm looking forward to your feedback.
I will announce the release on the user mailing list during the next days.

Hi Achim,

Sorry about the delay. I just got back from a 3 week holiday the day
before yesterday and I am still catching up. I have also not taken any
time to inspect the many changes you've made in detail. I've really
only read your commit logs. I was really quite pleasantly surprised at
the many changes you've made which we discussed but you didn't really
seem to agree with.

I'd also get this thing rolling as soon as possible. So for what it's
still worth here is my thumbs up:

Knut Wannheden: +1 (binding)

I still have a few other minor points about the registry definition
API I'd like to discuss but I'll start another thread for that.

Thanks for the great work so far!
