When constructing a proxy for remote peer to perform a RPC, DNS resolution is performed.  It would be great to add metrics to measure how much time the DNS resolution takes.  That information could be provided by :
* a histogram for DNS resolver times
* 'standard' cache metrics for the DNS resolver cache
