Re: [D] Running Superset locally on Windows system (Via WSL2) [superset]

<!-- Greeting -->
Hi @paulsonkevgit! I'm [Dosu](https://go.dosu.dev/dosubot) and I’m helping the superset team.
<!-- Answer -->
The error happens because the database container isn't starting—usually due to a PostgreSQL version mismatch with existing Docker volumes. When the database fails, the hostname "db" can't be resolved by other services, causing the initialization to fail. To fix this, remove the old Docker volumes so the database can initialize with the correct version:
```sh
docker compose -f docker-compose-image-tag.yml down -v
docker compose -f docker-compose-image-tag.yml up
```
If you cloned the repo with `--depth=1`, run `git fetch --tags` before checking out a specific tag. Make sure you're running Docker Compose commands from within WSL2, not from Windows directly, to avoid networking issues. Note that running Superset with Docker Compose on Windows/WSL2 is not officially supported and may still have issues in some environments. More details and solutions are discussed [here](https://github.com/apache/superset/issues/33823) and [here](https://github.com/apache/superset/issues/34284).
If the problem persists, check the logs of the `db` container for specific errors. Let me know if you need help interpreting those logs.
