[jira] [Created] (CLOUDSTACK-1916) Reference Architecture Guides
Jessica Tomechak created CLOUDSTACK-1916:
--------------------------------------------

Key: CLOUDSTACK-1916
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLOUDSTACK-1916
Project: CloudStack
Issue Type: Improvement
Security Level: Public (Anyone can view this level - this is the default.)
Components: Doc
Reporter: Jessica Tomechak
Example deployments with a cookbook approach to a successful setup within clear guidelines. Include usage scenarios for large-scale users (explanations, drawings, technical descriptions) - suggested by Christian Ferber, Geralyn Miller
(from Clayton Weise)
I wrote up a couple of example configuration diagrams (http://wiki.cloudstack.org/display/COMM/CloudStack+Example+Configurations) that I think are a start.
I think one of the things that is missing (and others in IRC agree) is sufficient example configurations. Perhaps an example describing a public network, guest network, management network, ip ranges, vlan tags, etc -- a fully functional example CS installation in both basic and advanced network models. And then showing where those different values are entered during the setup of the wizard. Just this alone would probably help to relieve much of the frustration and confusion associated with an initial installation of CS.
