can svn support ACL ?

Hello list,

I wounder if svn can support ACL. According to my present setup my users
can checkout ; commit after successful authentication based on .htpasswd
file. But it would be really nice if i can control the ACL rights
through svn. Is it possible to do the same ? Do I need to install any
specific tool to support it ?
