commandButton and commandLink onClick error

I am trying to use a commandButton OR a commandLink to reset my page.

In the past I have used javascript's reset() function to reset the
brower screen to the initial values that were initially loaded.
Basically this is an undo.

However, I am getting the following error whenever I try to place an
onClick in commandButton or commandLink:

exception

javax.servlet.ServletException: /estimating/estimate/index.jsp(35,0)
Attribute onClick invalid for tag commandButton according to TLD
	javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet.service(FacesServlet.java:125)


However I have looked at the JavaDoc TLD provided with the sun JSF and
also the MyFaces one. Both of them state that onClick is allowed.

Can anyone else confirm or suggest a work around?
