[~benstopford] Hello, sorry for the noise in an old ticket. What are the alternatives at the moment? I am in high need of using GetOffsetShell or similar, but nothing is being implemented and no one accepts PRs. See: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-3355
