[DISCUSS] Moving Apache Gora source to Git from SVN

Hi All,

Seems like Git is really picking up and the better integration of ASF
Git repo with Github is making collaboration and patch submission
easier.

I would like to propose moving the Apache Gora source repository to
Git to foster more contributions.

Damien when working with MongoDB data store is using Github ASF mirror
[1] to contribute and although we could convert it to SVN friendly
patch not all developers will be patience enough to do the extra steps
=P

If we are ok with migration I will help to drive the move to
completion with help from INFRA of course =)

You meant to say not committer or PMC … yet =)

Thanks Damien, your input is definitely welcomed.

Looks like Lewis already started VOTE thread on it. You can
participate on the thread even though only PMC votes are binding but
your participation shows interest from community that always
appreciated.

I would like to support this proposal - even if I'm not either commiter or
in project PMC (so no binding vote :).
I've been an happy user of Subversion for years but since I've tasted
DVCS/git workflow,
it's a bit difficult for me to go back into centralized VCS :)

I don't know how it's work but this mirror is already a pratical addition
to Subversion access.
