Lightning Talks: Call for presentations
ApacheCon 2003
Lightning Talks - Call For Papers
---------------------------------
"If you can't say it in 5 minutes,
it's probably not worth saying."
-- Someone wise.
The first ApacheCon Lightning Talks will be held at ApacheCon 2003. The
details are still a little sketchy (like when the event will actually
take place) but it's expected to be an evening event, so that it does
not cause a conflict with any of the "real" talks.
Lightning Talks are 5-minute talks. The topic can be anything related,
in any way, to the topic of the conference. They do not need to be
technical talks, but can be about anything that you think will be of
interest to the audience.
When I say that talks will be 5 minutes, I don't mean "5 minutes or
somewhere in that vicinity," I mean strictly "5 minutes or less." After
4 minutes, you will receive a gentle notification that time is running
short. At 5 minutes, you will stop, whether or not you are done. Plan
accordingly. On a related note, if you're in the Las Vegas area and have
a gong I can borrow, please let me know.
If you wish to give a lightning talk, please send the following
information to me at apache-lightning@rcbowen.com
Your name
Your email address
The title of your talk
A brief summary of what you'll be talking about
The submission deadline is somewhat flexible, based on how much response
we get, and whether I've already made up a complete schedule by the time
your submission comes in. So get your talk ideas in soon.
Thanks

This is entirely dependent on your ISP. Try dig -x your_ip +trace
FYI, mine is supposed to be part of one of the ten biggest telecom
companies in the world. During a couple of years, they had no reverse
mappings for a lot of addresses and, furthermore, the DNS referred at
the IANA and the RP record of those blocks pointed to a mail address in
a non-existant domain.
This was commented in lots of spam related and security lists during
lots of time, to no avail. I sent them also tons of emails, with no
response.

Santiago

you get whomever is in charge of the ip address (looks like
vilcom) to set up a PTR record in the dns mapping the address
to a name.

By putting a PTR record in your DNS server to point that address to a
name which maps back to that address.

Ah. Looks like I dropped it because I could not reverse-lookup your
sending host. Perhaps I should drop that rule. I wonder how many legit
mails that rule drops.

This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out. Below
