mod_authz_svn assertion failure 'is_canonical (path, len)' (path.c:391)

I'm having problems with mod_authz_svn. Here's the initial report:
http://rafb.net/paste/results/Fpnevi68.html

After asking from irc.freenode.net#svn several times sussman suggested
submitting the issue to the dev@ mailing list.

I have now discovered a workaround by commenting out that
'AuthzSVNAccessFile' line, so it must be related to mod_authz_svn. I'm
running Gentoo, and I have the most recent versions of all installed
packages (as of Wed Jul 14 16:00:20 2004 +0300).

The home.lan machine has svn version 1.0.5 (r9954), but I'm getting
identical problems from both machines.

I can supply any additional information you require.

Really need two things:

a) Backtrace of this happening.

b) Try 1.1.0-rc1 and see if the same thing replicates, the relevent code
has changed a great deal.
