Summary: Jmeter sesion problem with HTTP Cookies Managment
Product: JMeter
Version: 2.1.1
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Windows 2000
Status: NEW
Severity: critical
Priority: P2
Component: HTTP
AssignedTo: jmeter-dev@jakarta.apache.org
ReportedBy: kamlesh_sharma_80@yahoo.com
While using jmeter version 2.1.1 to test my J2ee(jdk 1.5.02) application. The
problem I am facing with session Managment.
I have created an Thread group, in which I added Http Default request element.
and Http Cookies Managment(config element) for Maintaining session for Multiple
Threads. When I tested my application with 15 Threads it's working fine. if i
increase number of threads more than 15 then it removes session.
and show folowing error in my log file:
"java.lang.NullPointerException"
Since in Application code there is instances where I use session.getAttribute()
that code wont work since it does not get values from session.
I have to test my application for 1000 users, it is possible with jmeter?

I can't see anything wrong with the JMeter side of things.
If I understand you correctly, the NPE is in your application, not JMeter.
It is probably the cause of the IO Exceptions in jmeter.log.
Seems to me that JMeter has found a bug in the J2EE application - no matter what
the clients send it, it should not be possible to trigger an NPE.
As to testing with 1000 threads, that is a question for the JMeter user list.

I suggest you try again with the latest version of JMeter - i.e. 2.2.
If that also fails, please attach jmeter.log
