Customize the jetspeed ldap 's schema

Hi I'm a newbie.
I'm using JestSpeed 1.4 with OpenLdap 2.0.25.
The Authentication works fine , but I need to customize  the jetspeed 
ldap default schema.
I managed to add an ldap's attribute but I don't know how to get it from 
a portlet.

There's a way to do it ?
It is Possible to customize  the jetspeed ldap 's schema ?
