Samples report

Hi everyone,

As I said, I made a report while going through the samples by taking some
notes of what was hard to understand for me and could not find any
information on the website.

You can find it attached as a .doc document as I think it would be great if
everybody could try and update the document with explanations in a specific
color. If some things are ambiguous, feel free to let me know and
reformulate the question. Also, if passing the document back and forth
doesn't seem the best solution, let me know if a wiki page or a shared
google doc sounds better.

Looking forward to the clarifications as they will also help me gain more
deep understanding of Tuscany.

Thanks,

Florian

Unfortunately we're stuck with wiki and the mailing lists as not
everyone has wave accounts (would be good though as i've a wave
account but never really had anything to use it for). I think the wiki
page is working ok for now, and hopefully as things get clarified we
can update the relevant doc on the website/readme's/etc which will
hopefully help keep things clear.

Hi guys,

Your responses already clarified some of the things that were vague to me,
meaning that this process is working really well.
I have updated the page in the parts where i feel more information is needed
and posted some new questions about the callback support as i am moving my
study in this area.

One more thing that i think we should discuss is the format with which we
will continue to work. It seems to me that the wiki page is already verbose
and confusing and in time it will become hard to find things, make
difference between questions, answers, track down changes. My proposal would
be Google Wave, i think it fits very well this kind of job until we'll
complete the process. The wave can be shared and at the end exported into a
document format (doc, pdf) and attached to a wiki page, email on the mailing
list. Any other proposals are welcomed.

Thanks,

Florian

Hi Florian

Good questions/observations. I've started adding a few comments to the
wiki page you created. I annotated them against SL as some of the
comments may just be my opinion and others may differ.

As you've probably gathered we've been talking about improving the
samples and the way that they are layed out and it would be useful to
get some feedback from you on that and some help to improve them
further. Suggestion gratefully received.

Simon

Hi Raymond,

Wiki page can be found at
https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANYWIKI/Tuscany+Samples
<https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANYWIKI/Tuscany+Samples>That's
right, this is a good opportunity both for you to get feedback from a
newcomer perspective and for me to achieve a better understanding of
Tuscany.
Meanwhile, I will continue to populate this list if something else seems
unclear to me. Hopefully through this process we can improve the Tuscany
documentation.

Cheers,

Florian

Good questions. Would you please post them to a wiki page at https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/TUSCANYWIKI/? We can take this opportunity to build up a FAQ. I'm happy to answer some of the questions.

Thanks,
Raymond
